UN – HABITAT 2007 SCROLL OF HONOUR AWARD

The Habitat Scroll of Honor is awarded each year on World Habitat Day, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly to raise awareness about the status of human settlements.   

This year, the Executive Director of Habitat, Ms. Anna Tibaijuka, presented the award to the winners as part of the Year Celebrations on World Habitat Day on 1 October 2007, in The Hague, the Netherlands, "This is the most valuable award from the U.N in order to acknowledge the work accomplished in human settlements development field"

"The aim of the Habitat Scroll Honor Award is to recognize individuals and institutions instrumental in improving living conditions in urban centres around the world," said Ms. Anna Tibaijuka. The award was awarded to the Palestinian Housing Council (PHC) in recognition of its outstanding efforts in providing apartments, houses, employment opportunities and giving hope to an unlimited number of Palestinians.
