The PHC launched the Site and Service Program in 2004 for the purpose of developing sites for housing. Through this program, the PHC identifies adequate land for housing in which the PHC then purchases and develops all services and infrastructure. Parcels are then made available to families through PHC’s soft loans program in order to construct low cost units. PHC is now preparing studies for a pilot project through this Program, which aims to create a practical test elements of environment-friendly buildings and attempting to apply and disseminate the results of the project outputs to the institutions that financing and implementing similar projects as well as PHC projects.
This project is an initiative of PHC and a joint venture of An-Najah National University (NNU), and in participation of UN-Habitat, Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH), and Environment Quality Authority (EQA).
In this program PHC bought another site in jenin with a (22) donum, waiting for Feasibility and possibilities for application for this program on these two sites.
