The idea of the project is to empower the group of people holding building permits to enter directly into implementation within a year, which is the period determined by the official departments in Jerusalem as a maximum to start the actual implementation. These categories are included in official housing cooperatives in Jerusalem. The aim of the project is to encourage Jerusalemites to work together through cooperatives, thus facilitating licensing procedures and lowering fees, providing families with the opportunity to improve their economic conditions, increasing the housing stock in Jerusalem, providing jobs in the holy city and activating local trade. The project will also have significant social and economic implications, enabling families to preserve their identity and land, as well as enabling some members to return to live in Jerusalem and solve existing problems related to their residence and their family members in the city. The project will also contribute to reducing the economic burden by ceasing to pay rent for apartments currently rented by members.
